📚 9JA Girls Summer Reading Adventure 🌞📖

Embark on a literary journey with 9JA Girls this summer! 🌟 We're thrilled to launch our Summer Reading initiative, where Nigerian girls will receive a carefully selected book tailored to their grade level. Over the summer break, they'll dive into the magic of storytelling and explore worlds of imagination.

Each participant will receive a book appropriate for their grade level delivered right to their doorstep.

📚 Summer Reading Challenge

Dive into the pages and let your imagination soar! Participants will have the summer to read their book.

📝 Reflect and Share

After reading, girls are invited to reflect on their reading adventure. Share what the book was about, what you liked most, and your favorite characters.

✍️ Writing Adventure

Choose from a variety of prompts tailored to your grade level. Express your thoughts, ideas, and feelings through the magic of words.

Requirements by Grade Level:

Participate in our Summer Reading Program! Receive an age-appropriate book, read it during the break, and write a summary of what the book was about depending on your grade level. Share what you liked most about the book, whether it's a character, a plot twist, or the overall theme. Your insights matter and everyone who participates will receive back-to-school supplies. Join us in fostering a love for reading and unlocking new worlds through the pages of a book. Everyone must pick one prompt that correlates with your grade level.


Primary (Elementary School): Write a 1-3 sentence summary of the book and draw your favorite scene.

Junior Secondary (Middle School): Share your thoughts on the characters' development and pick a character you'd like to interview. Write 3-4 sentences per paragraph. Write 2-3 paragraphs.

Senior Secondary (High School): Craft a reflective essay on the book's themes and how they relate to your own experiences. Write 3-5 sentences for each paragraph. Write 4-5 paragraphs


Pick One Prompt from Your Grade Level:


Primary/Elementary:

  1. Book Overview: Provide a summary of the main events in the story. Mention who the characters are, where the story takes place, and what happens at the beginning, middle, and end.
  2. Favorite Part Exploration: Share your favorite part of the book and explain why it stood out to you. Did something exciting or interesting happen? How did it make you feel?
  3. Drawing Prompt: Draw a picture related to your favorite part of the book. Add a caption or short sentence describing what is happening in your drawing.


Junior Secondary:

  1. Character Development: Analyze how the main character evolves or changes throughout the story. Discuss the factors that contribute to their development.
  2. Conflict Exploration: Investigate the central conflict in the book. Explore its causes, effects, and resolution. Discuss whether it's a common theme in real life.
  3. Thematic Reflection: Reflect on the themes presented in the book. Choose one theme and discuss its significance, providing examples from the text.


Senior Secondary:

  1. Literary Analysis: Delve into the author's writing style, use of symbolism, or other literary devices. Explore how these elements contribute to the overall impact of the book.
  2. Character Motivations: Examine the motivations behind the characters' actions. Discuss how their goals and desires drive the plot forward.
  3. Comparative Study: Compare the events or characters in the book with those from another work of literature. Discuss similarities, differences, and any broader themes they share.
